James started out on his fitness career in 2005 and was introduced to CrossFit shortly after. After training under some notable names in CrossFit, James decided it was time to grow his own CrossFit community. In 2011, CrossFit Burlingame opened its doors in a 1,800 square foot warehouse space and has since grown into a 7,800 square foot, cutting edge facility.
James obtained his bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology with the intent of going to grad school, but in finding a passion for fitness and CrossFit, he now uses his knowledge to help motivate his members and break down their personal barriers. He’s passionate about helping people look and feel better, have more energy, and enjoy life more. CrossFit Burlingame is his home and family — he treasures the relationships he’s developed over the years. He strives to bring as much love and understanding to coaching while balancing it with accountability and structure.
In James’ words: “I’ve aimed to grow CrossFit Burlingame beyond a center for fitness, to a home where people actually know one another and are able to receive much more than just a great workout. We truly are a big family that you have to experience to truly feel the power of and connection of. ”

Rebecca Siguenza

A lifelong dancer, Rebecca has always been active but she began struggling with weight. With proper nutrition and CrossFit, she was able to lose 30 pounds and has kept it off. She finds herself in the best shape of her life and is excited to have this opportunity to help others on their journey. As a former RN with a solid understanding of the human body, injury and recovery, she is a wonderful asset to the Burlingame team. Rebecca chose to change career fields because of her passion for preventing illness and disease. Today, she specializes in assisting clients with weight management and chronic health conditions.
In Rebecca’s words: “ I have a sincere passion for health and fitness and enjoy nothing more than the opportunity to help others through their journey of obtaining a happy and healthier lifestyle! CrossFit has changed my life and I want to share that gift with others. It is an incredible feeling to help others realize what they are truly capable of.”

Andrew came to CrossFit Burlingame to get strong. With an elite background in wrestling, he is driven and motivated and understands the mental game and is stronger than ever. The transition from athlete to coach was natural and Andrew is passionate about showing people that anything is possible. He specializes in Olympic weightlifting and building physical and mental strength.
In Andrew’s words: “I get excited when someone wants to try us out because they have no idea what they are in for and I want to be the person to show them what is possible when you step through the doors of GCBG.”

Sean knew it would only be a matter of time before he became a CrossFit coach. He truly loves helping people and is always pushing himself to become better and evolve. In some ways, he wants to help others improve themselves and their lives more than he wants success for himself. But in looking back at what he’s been able to accomplish as a coach, he sees that he’s been successful since being on his CrossFit path.
In Sean’s words: “I love seeing my athletes get better and stronger every day they walk in the gym! I love building up their mental strength and watching their confidence rise!”

Samantha Mar

Coach
Coach Samantha Mar grew up participating in various sports, including 16+ years of karate. She got her black belt at age 17. She also played soccer at UC Merced and still plays whenever she can.
Samantha’s favorite part of being a coach is helping people push their limits and showing them that they can achieve things they once thought were impossible. “I want to help members grow and reach their personal goals,” she says.
CFBG is her home away from home. “The camaraderie that all the members bring to the gym is amazing, and the box becomes like a second family,” she says. “Everyone wants to push each other and see each other succeed in all the goals they are trying to accomplish.”

Sieg Ramirez

Growing up, Sieg was always a good athlete. He played football, basketball and competed in softball leagues. If he wasn’t home, you could find him at the basketball court or at the gym. But even with that active routine, He felt bored and reached a plateau. He stopped being active and struggled with his weigh until he decided he had enough. He walked into the doors of CFBG in 2016. He needed the discipline and the structure the CFBG workouts provided.
“CFBG was exactly what I needed and it gave me new life. I’ve set and achieved so many goals in three years that I never really thought I was possible.CFBG lit that fire in me that keeps me going everyday.”
I’ll use my past success as a sports coach to share the knowledge I’ve gained and the positive impact I’ve experienced from CrossFit Burlingame to help our athletes reach their goals.

Maddie Prangley

Maddie was a former collegiate swimmer and life-long athlete. She found CrossFit as cross training in her college athletic career and feel in love immediately. Along with improving physical performance, CrossFit provided a community, a source of pride, and accomplishment and she knew that for all it had given her she wanted
